Inspiration behind the collection "While I'm On Pause"

With my new series "While I'm On Pause," I pay tribute to the iconic talents and style of music artists Josephine Baker, Erykah Badu, Prince, and Grace Jones. Inspired by their unwavering creativity and unapologetic style expressions, this collection is a celebration of style in music, lyrics, and the essence of true artistry.

As an artist, I find solace and inspiration in music and one day, while I was on pause working on an upcoming series “When Things Come Together” and listening to an Erykah Badu track, her soulful melodies and powerful lyrics enveloped my senses, and I embarked on a journey of introspection. It was during this moment that I realised the profound impact music (My first love) has had on my own life and now my artistic expression.

Artists like Erykah, Prince, and Josephine Baker have all left an indelible mark on the world with their flamboyant and fearless approach to their artistry. Their unapologetic commitment to infusing their whole being into their craft resonates deeply with me.
